Last week we kind of did not have a winner. The question was what does the small blue circle on our lenses do? Many people sent in answers that where not wrong. Many people sent in answers that where just taken direct out of our catalog. All of this was not wrong but it was not 100% correct. Or maybe a better way is to say they where not 100% what we where looking for. Almost everyone shared the same answer that the circle allowed Air to pass in and out of the two lenses to avoid fogging. This is correct but we wanted a more detailed answer. The part that was missing is why it is constructed to do this. The answer is for elevation changes. It might not be clear to most but there is a big difference from the air at the bottom of a chairlift and the air at the top of the mountain. Even in these few minuets of elevation gain one can go through a bunch of weather variances. This is what our lenses are built for. The pressure between most goggle lenses built with a inner and outer lens builds up when going up and down the mountain. This is what causes fog in many situations. Yes, your body temp, breathing and other factors cause fog but even those can be related back to the stuff going on between your lens. Our lens has that magic circle that allows for regulation. This then results in no fogging. If you do not believe us try our goggles. They might look simple in design but they function better then anything on the market. Simple look and amazing function is a dream come true in our eyes.

Last week the answer was In the basement of Travis Parkers house in Portland OR. This was where Airblaster was born and also the location of our first office. It was really just a room that we painted, tossed in some electrical and made a little office. It was really just Jesse and Myself that worked in there and to be honest I am not even sure how long we did work out of that spot. After that we moved into a office we shared with a friend that had a screen printing and vegetable oil conversion business. This was located near the Rose Garden in Portland. After that we moved out and did not have an office for about a year. We worked from home in both Portland and Government camp OR. Once we realized that having no official office was not working we moved into an office on 28th and burnside that we shared with Grenade. This worked good but only lasted a year and then Grenade started to have some trouble in their operations and we needed to get out and away from all that. So next was an office down on NW 5th and Couch. This office lasted us about 3 years and ended up being to big. We have since downsized to our current office on 11th and Division in Portland OR. This office is just a little bigger then the room in the basement of Travis's house. We are happy in our spot because it is small and cheap. We realized there is just no need for a large fancy office with open space that just costs money. Soon on the horizon is another possible move into a new office within our current building. If we keep this up we could start running Airblaster office location tours around portland for all our fans.

Last week we did not have a winner. The question was how many people work full time for Airblaster. The correct response was 4. We have a couple other people working for us but they are not 100% full time. Some work more then full time during parts of the year and during others do not. This number of people have changed over the years but the number of full time year round people has been steady at 4 for some time. Many people guessed, 5, 6, 7, 3 and this was very close but not one person nailed the number 4. One person that gets a honorable mention is Mack Powers. Mack guessed 70 people work at Airblaster. Now I am not sure if he was joking, accidentally added a 0 to a guess of 7 or was dead serious that he thought 70 people worked at Airblaster. If he was serious then high five friend, but you are way off. Many times we get people thinking we are a large company with many employees and private jets. This is not true, we are not DC and as far as I know we have no plans to be at that level anytime soon. We are growing but we like who and what we are and will continue making good quality snowboarder designed product for all you snow slashers out there.

Last week the question was how many square feet is the Airblaster World HQ located in Portland OR. The answer is 840 square feet. One thing we learned from this was that most people think Airblaster is some type of mega company. Most guesses where in the 3,000-5,000 foot range. This is large and way bigger then us. In all fairness however many probably do not know that we outsource our warehousing so our main office is just that, an office. There are 5 people that have small work spaces and that is about it. Our product is located in a warehouse in the state of WA. So, I guess if the warehouse was included maybe we would have a space close to 5,000 feet but that is a technicality. The winner for the week was Ryan Reede. I am actually shocked that we had a winner because I figured we would not. I do not know if Ryan just got lucky or was creative and figured it out. Whatever the case who cares, he won and he is awesome! Ryan, send us your address and we will send some prizes.

Last week the winner was Zack Missioreck. The answer was Jason Wahler. I guess Jason is on a few reality TV shows. He is wearing our new Sasquatch sweater. To be clear we really do not know who Jason Wahler is and since posting this image we learned that he has had some bad press. Airblaster really has no connection with him and we do not support any of the bad things he is supposedly known to do. Maybe he is a great guy with a bad rap or maybe not. Whatever the case he was spotted with the Sasquatch sweater so he at least has good fashion sense.
